So loaded up with shoes and a sweet hoody. The Teva Tour was on its way to Versal Switzerland. It rained allot and the river’s where high. Pat and I went off in the afternoon with the photographer Thilo and local Dutch man Case to scout a drop that we heard was 26m and never been run.
It was evident right away why it had never been run, it was Burley and one of the most unpridictable rapid/ waterfall I have ever seen and more impressively that Pat Keller him self had ever seen. The river was a bit to high so after a three hour scouting mission we returned to camp hopping for lower water and with some great tales.
After a restless night sleep Pat and I awoke with the thought of the drop in the back of our minds all the time.
So with the whole Tribe there Pat I set off for another Scout mission this time the water was still the same but we were bored pritty much and ready to huck our Meat off something Dum.
So we got fired up set saftey and had one of thoes scary walks back to the top, wher you ask your self if it is worth never walking again.
I let Pat go first hahaha, when he asked me who is going first I was quick to reply “you are bro”.
Watching Pat paddle off was intense not being able to see after the lip I was left in the eddy to wait for the word if he was alright.
He was fine he had been ripped from his boat but no injury and it was my turn.
I gave the 2 splashes of water to the face and headed off.
As I paddled up to the drop I gave up on my strokes and just decided to paddle the entry and Tuck up and take a Hit.
Tucking up I was falling thinking,
“Fuck I haven’t hit the Bottom”
“Fuck I haven’t hit the Bottom”
“Fuck I haven’t hit
BAAAAMMMM
I had gone over the handle bars a bit, but after reseting my brain I was up right with half a boat fill of water
I paddled into the Eddy.
To hug Pat and say HEEEELLLL YYEEEEHHHH. Sick
I had put my Tooth through my Lip and it was worth it....
The boy’s thought I needed to be stitched up so I paddled down the rest of the river and was sent off to Hospital to get 5 stitches Sick.
